The Giant’s Garden

Set in the pastoral splendour of the late 1700s, perpetual winter descends on a giant's garden after playful children are shut out by a massive wall. The control of nature and the loss of common land are examined. We are reminded of the importance of play and the value of a child's perspective.

Using shadow-play, the design world explores divided space and the shifting of seasons. A giant puppet is glimpsed through a window.

The Tree of Light

Set in the year 3099, when humans find themselves stranded on the Moon, this powerful and magical tale will transport audiences into the darkness of space.

Following development in early 2024, incorporating two weeks of performances for schools audiences along with an Adelaide Festival 2024 preview season, The Tree of Light will premiere in 2026 as the third piece of the completed triptych 'A Concise Compendium of Wonder'.
